"While 2004 was below our expectations, we have a good feeling about 2005," he said. "We're bringing back Furby, we're mining the investments made in technology with new toys like the I-Dog, and we have a few other surprises."

ARGGGGGGG, NOOOOO!!!!!!
Death to FURBY!!!!!!!

You aren't alone in wanting Darth Tater, grail

Although the rest of it does reaffirm my resolve to give up on Star Wars from Hasbro with the 6th movie

I bet they'd do better if they geared more towards adult collectors, and forgot the kids altogether (perish the thought, I know). not to say they don't gear somewhat to us now, but...

I think a lot of kids are more interested in playing nintendo or whatever than playing with SW(or any other) action figures.
seems that way to me, anyway.
when I'm toy shopping, I rarely see kids in the toy aisles (apart from the video game section).

Hmmm...then you'd think a video game based on action figures might do well...

Or action figures with video games built in...

I know regarding the 3.75" figures, as the 'action' features go up my consumption of them goes down. I think there are approximately 8-10 figures out of the first 24 that have grabbed my interest and they're mostly lesser characters like the young Mon Mothma and Bail
Organa. But the figures with the 'action' features just look like crap.
And OK so I may want the Darth Tater figure too. *hides head in inner elbow*

I think the people in charge at HASBRO are fucking morons...

Video Now... do they think kids today are retarded? My daughter who is 2 knows how to use DVDs and they try to market a useless piece of crap that can't play DVDs, is rediculously overpriced and has a limited selection of stupid snippets from boring cartoons and music viedos?

As a parent... I'd buy my kid a portable DVD before I wasted that kind of money on a gimmick.

And all this new SW stuff is going to kill the market... too much for retailers to handle... they will get burned on a lot of the product (like EPI and II) and refuse to re-order and re-stock which will just frustrate collectors and kids trying to find the few items they actually want.
